Story Overview:
Before the story of Tears of the Kingdom starts, Link and Princess Zelda look into a strange event happening below Hyrule Castle. When they find an old preserved body, it causes a huge earthquake that shakes the whole land. Huge pieces of land are being torn apart, and Hyrule Castle is rising high into the air.
There is no Zelda after she disappears into a hole in time. Link has to handle the effects now. His Master Sword is broken, and a strange, strong new arm has been put on the arm that was badly hurt. He wakes up on the Sky Islands, where a spirit from a long-gone society leads him.
Link has to go through both Hyrule's wild surface realm and the brand-new Sky Islands. Ganondorf is a terrible force that wants to cover Hyrule in darkness forever. He wants to find Zelda, figure out what happened, and stop Ganondorf. It's never been more dangerous for our hero to live.
Gameplay Features:
- Try Fuse Regularly Instead of Swords and Shields. Combining monster components, elemental artifacts, and mundane objects can generate powerful gear effects.
- Maximize Vertical Gain with Ascend: When you reach a ceiling, consider whether Ascend can save you time or reveal a secret path. Using it to quickly reach new destinations and avoid climbs is invaluable.
- Travel Ultrahand Master: Build rudimentary vehicles early to travel Hyrule's vastness. Even with a log raft or movable platform, time is money.
- Check out the Sky Islands Early: The Sky Islands contain essentials, shrines, and story elements. Focusing on exploration can yield large surface benefits.
- Despite the hazards, the Depths are worth exploring for their unique minerals, powerful enemies, and rich Zonaite. Light your path with Brightbloom Seeds and prepare for challenges.
- Be Smart Cook: Always cook dishes that replenish health and include status boosts like speed or attack. Try different recipes to maximize their use.
- Acquire Opponent Gap Knowledge: Scan your enemies with your Purah Pad to find their weaknesses. Knowing which opponents are vulnerable to which elemental attacks or weapons simplifies combat.
